These are a great idea but why do they seem unavailable for sale to individuals? The PDF link seems to be down right now but it does say that a minimum quantity applies so I assume they are only selling them to organizations. This has happened before when people are worried that these needed items will be bought up for trendy gadget items by greedy westerners but what better way to ensure a readily available supply of cheap gadgets for the third world than to make something that is both useful and trendy? I'd certainly buy one for all of my gadgets!

I got this article from the Hindu. The title of the blog is a link to the article. The author expects it will be around $1,500..he seems to be pretty into Apple--we'll see if they all of a sudden start going cheap with the new thing.

Iphones are cheaper now but remember how much the first 100,000 or so were? People will pay..I guess we are not looking at the settled price after a couple of Xmases, but the 'Initial Public Offering' price, if you will
